I'm evaluating PNP for use in our project. I get a crash 100% of the time when I try to export terrain ala this post:

viewtopic.php?f=15&t=454

I have downloaded the PNP texture pack and example terrain, but I still get the crash.

Community Version - log attached...

Anybody had time to look at this? I'm trying to decide what we are going to use for terrain editing. I need something real soon...

Hello i want to say i have the same problem with it, im trying to export to Ogre and it gives an error right away.

Im also a bit intrigued that no one asnwered this post, i was thinking on buying this software but that export is the key to the integration into my pipeline. Should be something easy to fix right!? (since i see the terrain edit itself works flawlessly i suppose there is a setup problem or something)

Anyway, looking forward to hearing from you.

Eugen

Hi,

sorry for the late response.... I can confirm there is a problem with the alphamap exporter.

I don't know the reason for it yet. I'm working on it.

Cool, please let us know how we can fix it or if not how much time until you can release a fix for this.
Thanks!

Please unzip and copy the attached dll to the plugins directory below the pnp installation directory.

So not even the settings dialog of the exporter is displayed?
Do you use the latest version 1.2.2?

Well, on all my test systems, the dll contained in the zip file works correctly.

Maybe a silly question, but just to make sure... you did extract the dll file from the zip file? can you check that the file date of the "PnPTCAlphamapTextureExportPlugIn.dll" in the "program files\pnp terraincreator\plugins" directory is the 2nd of Juni 09?

I'm working on a solution.

However, on my system the original dll crashes after the export is completed. So it will export everything correctly.

Yes, i checked out and is the latest version.

This might be a silly question though but have you linked Ogre dynamically for this plugin or dont you use ogre at all to export?
Is there a log file i can check out or send to you?

[edit]
I attached the log file. I get a bunch of errors regarding the water surface

Yes, of course I extracted it from the zip file.

Mine exports a bunch of "blank" files and NO alpha map at all - it crashes on the alpha map the best I can tell -

Have you tried to install and export from a virgin machine?

I used "Alphamap settings":

PNG
1
512
1
alpha + Detail
No border pixels
Power of two
