Hi,

I export one of my heightmaps to .bmp and import it to Photoshop, make som smoothing.
Then save it and try to import it to pnpTC, but the heightmaps only contain 2 or 3 colours when I'm import it.

I'm mail the bitmap to you Ralf and see if it's working for you.

/Tobias

I think I found the trouble.

When I make the bitmap I used height between 1499 to 1576 meters (black to white).

So it was the scale that was wrong I think.

It's hard to keep up with you :D

8 bit heightmaps are evil; you always have to put a scaling factor right and with larger height ranges you will always have steps or less detail.

Try using the 24 bit (r-g-b) export. That should be read without loosing quality into CS (the height units used are centimeters, so you have to apply a constant vertical scaling of 0.01 (assuming you use 1 meter as heightmap element size)). But as it is no common bitmap format, you cannot postprocess it with a painting tool (but you will not have to anyway).
