You may not consider this a bug, but I do. For a 0-400 m high terrain I set the entire area to 400 m and it was all white as expected. I then set part of the area to 200m high and that area was black rather than half-grey as I would have expected. Then when as I decreased an area to 0m, the 200m area became lighter until when I had an area of 0m, the 200m area was half-grey as I would have intitially expected. Having done that and reopened the file, I could paint the area to 400m and then some back to 200m and the grey coloration was ok. So maybe if you import an all white sector, the colors are not correct until you get some black?? Sorry, I don't have time to try different combinations. The grey scale color of an area should be scaled to the terrain definition max min, not to the max-min of the existing heights, but in some code it is not.

Its not a bug, its the expected program behaviour. And I'm sorry too, I have even less time...
