Quick question:
Can I use Visual Studio 2008 Express to build plugins, or do I need to get the VS 2008 Standard? :)

The reason why I'm asking is that I saw a topic here where the 2008 express edition was used.

Hi,

well in principle, it is possible to use the Enterprise Editions of VS 2005/2008. Project files for VS 2008 are already included with the installation of the PlugIn SDK. However, some of the PlugIns use MFC for displaying dialogs. MFC is not shipped with the Express Editions of VS.

But I think it is still possible to compile the PlugIns using MFC when installing the Platform SDK from Microsoft. As far as I know, it is not so straight forward integrating the Platform-SDK into the Express Editions of VS. However, I saw a tutorial a few months ago how to accomplish this; so it should be possible.
