Present I'm writing a game-engine with DirectX and c++.
I don't want to write an own terraincreator. I just wanna load ready terrains that I've built with another program

So my question is: Is it allowed to load "your" terrains to a private engine?
When yes: May I get all the informations about the data-format?

thx

Hi,

You cannot import a terrain directly from the PnPTC terrain project files. Their data format is not open and will change from time to time.

But of course you can use the terrains created/edited with TC in whatever way you like. The best way to get terrains from TC into your Engine is either creating you own exporter plugin for TC or using one of the several data formats current TC exporters can create.

The next release will have a lot of improvements to the exporting capabilites and will also have the capability to import terrains from several file formats. (see here)

I am using TC and a custom export to export terrains created in PnPTC to a native format for my engine. Creating exporter plugins is very straightforward and the SDK setup includes plenty of examples to use as a starting point.
